John is a highly accomplished Managing Director capable of leading a client-facing team to provide complex, high profile loan financing transactions to key firm relationships. 

John has built a long and successful 25+ year track record of establishing corporate client relationships and driving successful loan capital markets transactions across multiple industry sectors. Most recently John was a critical member of the leverage loan capital markets team responsible for growing RBC Capital Markets into a top tier bookrunner of corporate loans. John is well respected in the Loan Capital Markets arena with an expansive network of commercial bank and institutional investor relationships, and historically has been relied upon by colleagues, clients, and investors seeking loan market intelligence, structuring guidance, and pricing expertise.  John is recognized for a strong work ethic, integrity, and a high degree of personal initiative.

While at RBC, John was primarily responsible for the loan syndication execution process across numerous industry verticals with recent focus on Energy, Real Estate, Technology, and Financial Institutions. John led a team that produced north of $100.0 MM in syndication-only related fees for RBC over fiscal years 2017-2019.  John forged strong collaborative bonds with his RBC debt and equity capital markets partners as well as product specialists to provide holistic clients solutions while maximizing cross-sell and ancillary revenue opportunities.

John was senior member of RBC’s Energy Loan Syndications team that vaulted the firm into Top 5 Bookrunner of North American Energy Loans.  John also established RBC’s Real Estate loan syndication efforts through collaboration with Investment and Corporate Banking teams and has technical expertise in corporate REIT loans, as wells a mortgage loans in the data center sector. John was also instrumental in growing RBC’s presence in the FinCo space through numerous benchmark Left Bookrunner insurance sector wins.

Prior to joining RBC, John spent 5 years in the Diversified Lending Group at Credit Lyonnais (aka Credit Agricole) from 1995-2000 where he was a key member of the team who forged numerous client relationships across multiple industries.  In this role John worked on structuring and pricing loans ensuring that the credit profile was consistent with Credit Lyonnais risk / return profile.  John began his corporate finance career at First Fidelity Bank in 1993 where he was formally credit trained and became a team leader in the Complex Credit Group within First Fidelity Bank’s Credit Risk Department and also worked in the Asset-Based Lending group.

John received his MBA in Finance from Fordham University in 1992 and attended undergraduate school at Siena College where he graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Marketing Management in 1988.

John is licensed with the SEC carrying a Series 7 &63 registration
